Our Story: Why We Love Bikes So Much

From a meager garage in Hermosa Beach to one of the most trusted online retailers of beach cruisers, Beach Bike’s story took the company’s owners for a wild ride.

California Dreaming

Childhood friends Dustin and Mike, both originally from Naperville, IL, always had dreamt of living by the ocean. Although they loved the different seasons their Midwest home offered them, they had different plans for their future.

In 2003, after graduating from college, the two young men packed up their things and moved to California. It didn’t take them long to find a home in Hermosa Beach.

More Than a Passion

Initially, Dustin and Mike’s career paths took them in different directions, landing one in the steel industry and the other in the entertainment business. It didn’t take them long to realize that their hearts really belonged by the beach. In June, 2005, they opened up their original garage. Only four months later, they opened up their first storefront in Torrance, with three stores subsequently opening.

Today, Dustin and Mike are living out there dream by offering cyclists the best selection of beach cruisers around. They have turned their passion into a reality and are constantly committed to offering the same bikes and biking tips to their beloved customers.
